Here is what I have written so far for the New Manifesto of Futurist Food! Any contributions would be much appreciated. ASAP please!
Humanity is weak, slow and pathetic because of food. We, Marinetti’s Antipasti, will pave the way for a new generation of Futurist cooks by becoming better, faster, and stronger: SUPERHUMANS through Futurist food!
Our food will cater for all the senses:
• Taste: we will create previously unheard-of flavour combinations!
• Smell: our meals will be served with perfumes!
• Hearing: we will listen to flavour-enhancing sounds and music whenever we eat!
• Sight: our food will look magnificent, made into colourful and bold edible sculptures!
• Touch: we will combine many textures in our cuisine, both edible and not!
We will throw off the shackles of tradition! We will scorn pasta, bread and potatoes. Our food will contain amphetamines and caffeine so that we will always be responsive and working to our true potential as SUPERHUMANS!

I think this is a really good way of introducing the performance as it sets up our ideas about certain foods slowing us down, and I think that having this at the beginning now will make our ideas on obesity much clearer. It shows what we hate about food but also, what we want to do about it and how we address it. Also the manifesto makes the performance link more with futurism. So, well done Tim!
ReplyDeleteIf i remember rightly, Will is going to say the manifesto and your going to make some music to go with it whilst the edible art video is being played? Correct me if that's not right...What sort of music did you have in mind?
As discussed by most of us earlier this will be the start, i think some more strong statements should be made soemthing a long the lines of;

i did write more but it seems to have cut it...

There will no longer be this disatrous past that you live in, you will see the strength the stamina the energy that we embody, you can live like us!
